Still unsure

I am 10 weeks and bought this app due to other peoples good reviews. Well I tried it out and my first try I tried for 25 minutes and couldnt find anything besides my own heart beat which was very slow. I tried an hour later and found a very distinct heartbeat and I got all excited. I pushed record and sent it to everyone. But then I lifted up the phone and somehow covered the mic and speaker at the same time and it brought up the same exact sounding heartbeat in mid air... So now Im very skeptical about whats going on with this app. At times it acts as if its working and is accurate and then other times it will just randomly play a fast heartbeat no matter where I put it. Hmmmmm
